I’ll be honest, fam – I didn’t get all of my ideas on camera but in the coming weeks, I’ll be adding more outfits here as well as posting them on my personal page. 🙂
Below are a few outfits highlighting some of my favorite pieces, which are described in detail further down this page. I also included links so you can cop them for yourself!
While summer is about beating the heat and relaxing, fall is about getting outdoors and staying active. Denim and flannel are rugged fabrics meant outside adventures. Whether you’re camping, hiking or just sipping on a pumpkin spice latte, these fabrics will go the distance. Denim and flannel can be layered easily, allowing you to adjust to the constant temperature swings, between the chilly mornings and warm afternoons.
Although often worn year-round, the denim jacket is most synonymous with fall. A versatile layer, they can be easily paired with a flannel button down, a white t-shirt or a turtleneck. Or, pair them with a dress shirt and tie for a smart casual look. A plain denim jacket is a timeless staple that you can wear years down the line.
And of course, bombers are always in season! My favorite bomber at the moment is Zara’s quilted jacket in khaki. You can find plenty of fall-inspired bombers in just about any store.
- ASOS light wash denim jacket with fleece lining
- Zara olive/khaki denim jacket
- Zara khaki green quilted bomber
- Zara brown denim jacket
Speaking of, a good flannel shirt should also last you for a long time. Trends in design can change, so my recommendation would be to keep the design simple for a longer shelf life. As for the color, you can’t go wrong with a check flannel shirt in any fall hue. Like denim jackets, denim shirts are also in and can even be dressed up with a tie or blazer.
- Vans brown buffalo check shirt
- ASOS slim fit denim shirt with granddad collar
- ASOS beige slim fit check flannel shirt
- ASOS khaki green denim shirt
- Zara navy blue flannel shirt
- ASOS beige corduroy shirt
Pants will serve as a foundation for your outfits and should not be overlooked. Your jeans rotation will not drastically change but indigo denim best compliments autumn colors. Black also can be added in to the fall and winter rotation since it works quite well with olive, brown and charcoal. I recommend going extra skinny and adding knee rips to your black denim.
If you are more into chinos (by choice or by paycheck), ASOS has a wide range of colors and fits. Brown, khaki green, grey and navy are solid options. I recommend sizing down as these chinos stretch easily and conform to your movements.
- ASOS skinny jeans in indigo
- New Look ripped skinny jeans in black
- ASOS skinny chinos in dark khaki green
- ASOS skinny chinos in light grey
For footwear, brown is the predominant color this time of year. Generally, you should have a pair of brown dress sneakers year round but fall is a must. They are extremely comfortable and can be dressed up or down. If you’re into loafers, you can’t go wrong with this pair from @KicksForGents. The check pattern adds a neat English touch while the cozy wool helps hold in heat. They are also comfortable and add a fun pop to a dapper outfit.
Lastly, a fall wardrobe would not be complete without at least one pair of boots! I went with suede Chelseas but there are plenty of options to choose from. Zara and ASOS have plenty of Chelsea boots in a variety of colors at an affordable price. If you’re willing to spend a bit more, Taft, Thursday Boot Company and our close friends at @KicksForGents have a wide variety of boot styles and colors to choose from (not to mention sneakers and dress shoes as well). Kicks For Gents even lets you design your own!
The Magnanni suede boots in the display below are out of stock but we listed out some fun alternatives.
